Texas' Only Volunteer POLR Is "Preparing For The Potential Of A POLR Drop", Seeks To Increase Number Of Customers Accepted On Voluntary Basis

TXU Energy -- the only volunteer Provider of Last Resort in Texas -- has filed with the Texas PUC an increase in the maximum number of customers TXU will accept as a volunteer POLR (aka VREP)

"TXU Energy is preparing for the potential of a POLR drop. TXU Energy agrees to accept as a VREP the increased number of ESI IDs [shown below] ... as early as Monday, Feb 22nd and will actively work with the PUC, ERCOT and the respective TDUs to effectuate," TXU said

Specifically, TXU Energy requests to be designated as a Voluntary Retail Electric Provider (VREP, or volunteer POLR) as of February 22, 2021 for the number of Electric Service Identifiers (ESI IDs) indicated below, for the specified transmission and distribution utilities (TDUs) and for the residential and Small and Medium Commercial customer classes:
