Texas retail provider APG&E said in an update to customers that the company is "financially stable" and that its customers do not need to worry about being transferred to Provider of Last Resort

"Over the past few days, we have all been impacted by the extreme winter weather in Texas. This unprecedented event caused electricity generation to go offline resulting in sustained power outages across the state. You will have likely seen news reports regarding the resulting high prices and the potential for Retail Electric Providers ('REPs') to go out of business," APG&E said

"We want to assure you that APG&E is here to stay. We are financially stable, and our team has worked tirelessly to ensure we remain here for you throughout these events. You do not need to worry about being transferred to Provider of Last Resort ('POLR')," APG&E said

"If you have a fixed price contract with APG&E, your rate will not change. If you are out of contract, but still receiving service from APG&E, we encourage you to renew your service and lock in a low rate for the future," APG&E said
