Texas PUC Executive Director "Anticipates" More POLR Drops
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
During a hearing before a Texas Senate committee, Thomas Gleeson, Executive Director of the Public Utility Commission of Texas, said that he "anticipate[s]" more drops of customers to the Providers of Last Resort (POLR) from the winter weather event and related liquidity issues
As previously reported, POLR drops to date have included Griddy and Entrust Energy's remaining customers after a portion of the Entrust book was acquired by Rhythm prior to the POLR drop (see more details here)
Gleeson says that he is confident that the volunteer POLRs have agreed to serve a number of customers that exceeds the total that would be included in any future POLR drops.
As previously reported, on an aggregated basis, the approved volunteer POLRs have agreed to provide service to 4,214,000 ESI IDs across all customer classes in all POLR service areas.
