Texas PUC Formally Allows REPs To Resume Late Fee Charges, Won't Lift Disconnect For Non-Pay Moratorium At This Time
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
During today's open meeting, the Texas PUC said that the current prohibition on REPs issuing disconnect for non-pay (DNP) order will remain in place
The Commission did formalize its prior direction that REPs may resume charging late fees to customers, and will issue an order consistent with such decision and which rescinds the prior suspension of REP late fees. REPs had said that, due to a prior order on rule exceptions, they could not resume charging late fees despite the PUC's prior stated intention absent such a formal order
