TXU Submits Further Request Relating To Increase In Customers It Is Willing To Serve As Volunteer POLR

The Manager of Licensing and Compliance for the Texas PUC's Customer Protection Division issued a memo stating, "On March 17, TXU Energy Retail Company LLC (TXU) filed a request to increase the number of ESI IDs that it is willing to serve as a VREP [voluntary POLR]."

"Commission Staff has reviewed TXU's filing and determined that TXU is capable of serving the requested number of ESI IDs. Accordingly, Staff will notify ERCOT of the increase in the number of ESI IDs as required by 16 Texas Admin. Code (TAC) §25.43(i)(4)," the memo from the PUC's Manager of Licensing and Compliance stated

As previously reported, TXU had in February requested, and received approval for, an increase in the number of customers it was willing to serve as a VREP

TXU's new filing on March 17 requesting an increase in the number of customers it is willing to serve as a VREP made no mention of such prior action, and only referenced its original designation as a VREP from the normal process conducted in 2020

The March 17 filing also made no reference to a prior deadline established by the PUC for amendments to VREP status.

However, the memo from the PUC's Manager of Licensing and Compliance suggests that TXU's March 17 filing is for a further increase in the number of customers it is willing to serve as a VREP, rather than any sort of 'clean up' filing, though it remains unclear.

A media representative from Vistra did not provide a response seeking clarification of TXU's March 17 filing by publication time
