New York ESCO Asks PSC To Allow Auto-renewals For Bundled Energy & Home Warranty Product

Constellation NewEnergy, Inc. and Constellation NewEnergy – Gas Division, LLC have filed with the New York PSC standard service agreements for each of its electric and gas bundled home warranty products, which are being submitted as value-added products not subject to the typical product & rate limits otherwise applicable to mass market products.

In doing so, Constellation stated, "Constellation respectfully requests the Commission allow for automatic renewal without affirmative consent."

For mass market customers, auto-renewals are generally prohibited, except for guaranteed savings products

"While Constellation understands the reasons why the Commission has limited automatic renewals without affirmative consent for residential customers who enroll in a commodity-only product, the customer would receive additional value under Constellation’s electric or gas bundled home warranty product," Constellation said in the filing

"Constellation would provide a sample renewal notice to the Commission for consideration if it would assist the Commission in making a determination. If approved, Constellation would update the renewal provision in the enclosed standard service agreements," Constellation said
