International Energy Marketer Seeks Texas Retail Electric Provider Certificate

Enel Trading North America, LLC ("Enel") applied for an Option 1 Texas retail electric provider certificate

In its application, Enel stated, "The business plan connected with obtaining the retail license in Texas is to serve large/medium Commercial and Industrial customer[s] in ERCOT territories. Enel plan is to use retail in order to expand its renewable offering with shorter term, smaller size contracts to mainly sell the energy from our renewable portfolio."

"Target customers will be Large Commercial, Industrial and Governmental customers (over 25kW)," Enel stated

"We already serve C&I customers through wholesale renewable PPAs or interfacing and scheduling the energy directly to their Retail electric provider through ERCOT portal," Enel stated

Enel currently owns and operates in ERCOT 963 MW of renewable capacity (wind and solar), including: Snyder Wind (63 MW), Roadrunner Solar (400 MW), and High Lonesome Wind (500 MW). Enel is also building additional 970 MW of renewable and battery energy storage, and has plans to build more wind and solar plants in the state in the coming years.

In its portfolio, Enel currently serves 100+ wholesale customers

In the REP application, Enel did not seek authority to collect deposits or advance payments from customers
