ERCOT, Texas RE Announce Site Visits To Generation Resources To Verify Summer Readiness

ERCOT said in a market notice that representatives from ERCOT and Texas RE will perform site visits to evaluate summer weatherization preparations for select Generation Resources.

The site visits will consider each Generation Resource's readiness for operations during the summer Peak Load Season based on the steps identified in the relevant portion of the Generation Resource's Emergency Operations Plan or weatherization plan, as applicable, ERCOT said in the notice

These visits are expected to take place between May 17, 2021 and June 30, 2021, ERCOT said in the notice

In selecting which sites to visit, ERCOT and Texas RE will generally give priority to those sites that had one or more thermal Generation Resources experience some form of outage during summer conditions within the past few years, but will also randomly select a number of sites with thermal Generation Resources, ERCOT said in the notice

ERCOT Client Services will be notifying Resource Entities in advance of the site visits. ERCOT and Texas RE prefer that these visits be held on-site. However, if any Generation Resource facility has COVID-19 concerns, they may request a Webex video conference in lieu of an on-site visit once they receive notification from ERCOT Client Services. For on-site visits, representatives from ERCOT and Texas RE will wear masks, maintain social distancing, and comply with any other requirements of the facility operator relating to COVID-19, ERCOT said in the notice
