Kinder Morgan Reports $1 Billion Positive Impact To Earnings From February Winter Storm

Kinder Morgan, Inc. reported a $1 billion positive impact to first quarter earnings from Winter Storm Uri
"We realized greater margins on KMI’s Texas intrastate pipeline systems resulting from the
temporary supply and demand imbalances and substantial spot market price volatility caused by
the storm; as well as favorable contributions from the CO2 segment, which curtailed oil
production during the storm, allowing power it would have used to be delivered to the grid," Kinder Morgan said in reporting earnings
Of the $1 billion total, $116 million of the impact was from shedding load in its CO2 segment and selling the electricity at higher market prices
