Ranchero Power has launched retail electric service in Texas

As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Ranchero Power is a new trade name of Southern Federal Power, LLC (which is already active in the Texas retail market). Southern Federal Power is ultimately a unit of Genie Energy.

Ranchero Power is offering residential fixed plans with term lengths of 12 to 48 months, as well as a variable rate plan

In the Oncor service area, Ranchero Power's 12-month fixed rate plan has an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh usage, of 10.3 cents per kWh, which reflects an energy charge of 5.9752 cents per kWh, a monthly charge of $4.95, and pass-through of TDU charges.

In the Oncor service area, Ranchero Power's 48-month fixed rate plan has an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh usage, of 11.9 cents per kWh, which reflects an energy charge of 7.5752 cents per kWh, a monthly charge of $4.95, and pass-through of TDU charges. Ranchero Power is also providing a $50 bill credit for enrollments onto the 48-month fixed rate plan

Both fixed rate plans described above have early termination fees of $179

Ranchero Power is offering residential service in all of the TDU service areas
