The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

Several former Bounce Energy co-founders and executives have created a new retail electric provider, known as Energy Texas, which is taking steps to launch in Texas

The leadership at Energy Texas had been instrumental in launching Bounce and growing it to more than 80,000 residential and small business customers in Texas, Pennsylvania, and New York, prior to selling Bounce Energy to Direct Energy in 2013.

Liz Maberry serves as Co-Founder & Chief Marketing Officer at Energy Texas. Maberry was previously Co-Founder & SVP, Business Development at Bounce Energy, and later served in several roles, including Director, Innovation Strategy, at Direct Energy. Maberry also previously served as VP, Strategic Alliances at WhiteFence.

Katherine Wright serves as Co-Founder and SVP, Customer Experience at Energy Texas. Katherine Wright was previously a Co-Founder of Bounce Energy and had served as Vice President, Customer Management as well as Director of Strategic Alliances at the retail provider.

Building upon its leadership's history in innovating digital engagement in the retail energy industry, Maberry told EnergyChoiceMatters.com that Energy Texas will focus on unique ways to engage with customers.

Maberry said that Energy Texas' leadership will leverage the experiences learned at Bounce Energy and other REPs, as well as other projects and businesses that they have worked on since then, "to continue the path of a customer-first REP experience, using things like digital engagement as our primary means of communicating with customers: meeting them where they are," whether that be in terms of allowing mobile bill payments, or talking to them on an app or a chat.

"Additionally, we will be offering rewards programs, referral programs, and some really interesting information around their consumption behaviors and how we can help them in terms of optimizing consumption behaviors and patterns in the home," Maberry said.

Energy Texas will offer a "build your own plan" product to customers.

Maberry said that the Texas market has seen a lot of "look-alike" offers, such as free nights or weekends or other "free something" offers.

"Our offers are going to move away from that type of model to things that really speak to customers in the ways in which they want to be spoken to. So something like a build-your-own-plan will allow customers, just in the same way that you can customize your Dell computer and certain aspects of that offer might be more interesting or important to you, a customer will be able to pick and choose the things that are important or interesting to them. So whether it's a specific term length that lines up with their lease agreement, or whether they're really interested in devices that might help them better manage consumption in their home. Not every customer is going to want the same things, and we're allowing them to have the choice of what parts of an energy relationship are important to them."

Texas will be Energy Texas' first market, but the retail supplier does have long-term plans to enter into other markets.

Similar to Bounce Energy's deliberate growth, Maberry said that Energy Texas will establish a presence in Texas first, and then consider expansion to other states.

Energy Texas is a trade name of the entity Pounce Energy, Inc.

Robbie Wright, former CEO and Co-Founder of Bounce Energy, serves as a director on the board of the corporation Pounce Energy, Inc., but at this time is not engaged in day-to-day activities at Energy Texas.
