Utility's Residential, Small C&I Default Service Rate Increasing 33%

The New Hampshire PUC approved new default service rates at Public Service of New Hampshire (Eversource) for the period August 1, 2021, through January 31, 2022

The new PSNH default service (aka energy service) rate for the Small Customer Group is 8.826 cents per kWh fixed for the period August 1, 2021, through January 31, 2022, which is 33% higher than the current rate of 6.627 cents per kWh

The new small customer rate is also 1.758 cents per kWh higher than the energy service rate charged for the same period last year.

Monthly default service rates for the Large Customer Group range are as follows (cents/kWh)

January 2022    13.058

For the new default service period, Eversource selected NextEra Energy Marketing, LLC (NextEra) to supply power in three tranches for the Small Customer Group, and Vitol Inc. (Vitol) to supply power in one tranche for the Small Customer Group. Eversource selected Exelon Generation Company, LLC, to provide power for the Large Customer Group.
