The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

Texas retail electric provider Rhythm announced that it has begun offering Texas residential electric customers plans that are backed by 100% solar RECs from Texas (Texas Shine plans)

In the Oncor service area, Rhythm's Texas Shine plans are offered as fixed rates with terms of 12 or 24 months

In the Oncor service area, Rhythm's Texas Shine 12 plan has an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh usage, of 12.7 cents per kWh, which reflects an Energy Charge of 8.836¢ per kWh and Oncor Delivery Charges of 3.493¢ per kWh and $3.42 per month. An early termination fee will be assessed if the contract is canceled after the first ninety (90) days in the amount of $10 (ten dollars) for each whole month remaining in the contract term.

As it has done with other plans, Rhythm offers to pay up to $150 in bill credits to customers who incur an early termination fee in switching to Rhythm

Rhythm also recently launched its latest solar buyback plan for residential customers with distributed solar

Rhythm in a recent blog post stated, "More recently, we have launched our Solar Buyback 12 Plan, which has a 1-to-1 sell and buyback ratio. That means we will buy your excess solar electricity, when you have it and sell you renewable electricity, when you need it, at the exact same rate."

"We’ll also never set a limit on how much energy we’ll buy back from you, so if you simply don’t use a lot of electricity, you’re going to see a lot of bill credits," Rhythm stated in the blog post

In the Oncor service area, Rhythm's Solar Buyback 12 plan is a 12-month fixed rate that has an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh usage, of 13.8 cents per kWh, which reflects an all-in Energy Charge of 13.8 cents per kWh, and no separate or line-item pass-through of TDU charges. A termination fee will be assessed if the contract is canceled after the first ninety (90) days in the amount of $10 (ten dollars) for each whole month remaining in the contract term

Under the Rhythm Solar Buyback 12 plan, the customer will receive Rhythm Solar Buyback Credits for any excess energy delivered by the customer's eligible renewable energy system to the grid during the monthly billing cycle. The amount of Solar Buyback Credits to be added to the account will be determined by multiplying (a) the Energy Charge per kWh listed above by (b) the amount that the TDSP reports as a surplus over the applicable monthly billing cycle

As noted, the plan features a credit rollover from month to month, and there is no cap on the bill credits.
