Regulator's Staff Recommends Law Be Revised To Allow Regulator To Revoke Broker Certificates
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
In an annual retail electric market report, the Illinois Commerce Commission's Office of Retail Market Development recommended that the Public Utilities Act be amended to give the Commission explicit authority to revoke the licenses of agents, brokers, and consultants
ORMD noted that, "The PUA [Public Utilities Act] authorizes the ICC to review and grant licenses to entities seeking to become ABCs but is silent on the ICC’s authority to revoke an ABC license. Therefore, Staff recommends that the PUA be amended to included [sic] language that provides the ICC with explicit authority to revoke ABC certificates."
