PUC Schedules Online Door-to-Door Marketing Training As Moratorium Lifted, All Suppliers Advised To Attend

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission’s (PUC) Office of Competitive Market Oversight (OCMO) announced upcoming online training in the door-to-door marketing regulations at 52 Pa. Code Chapter 111.
This training is being offered as directed in the Commission’s previously reported July 15, 2021 order modifying the moratorium on door-to-door marketing.
As previously reported, in lifting the door-to-door marketing moratorium, the PUC did not mandate that suppliers participate in PUC training
However, the PUC in its prior order said, "we expect all suppliers that engage in door-to-door sales and marketing activities to attend one of these sessions," though the PUC did not make the training a prerequisite for resuming door-to-door sales and marketing activities
Likewise, a Secretarial letter announcing the training states, "We advise all Electric Generation Suppliers (EGSs) and Natural Gas Suppliers (NGSs) engaged in residential door-to-door marketing to have a representative(s) participate in one of the upcoming sessions. "
The training is intended for the individual(s) charged with door-to-door marketing oversight and compliance at the EGSs and NGSs.
Two, one-hour Microsoft TEAMS LIVE sessions have been scheduled on the following dates and times:
• Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10:00 am eastern.
• Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00 am eastern.
The PUC is asking EGSs and NGSs to please RSVP to the OCMO inbox at an email address listed in the Secretarial letter issued on Aug. 6 in Docket M-2020-3019254.
EGSs and NGSs are asked to RSVP with the date of the session they plan on attending and the email address of the representative(s) attending so the PUC may email back to supplier the TEAMs information and weblink.
EGSs and NGSs are asked to RSVP by Monday, August 16, 2021.
