Texas TDU De-Activates Catastrophic Estimation Process (CEP) For Meters In Impacted Areas

On Friday, September 17th, AEP Texas de-activated the Catastrophic Estimation Process (CEP) for the counties listed below as AEP Texas completed power restoration from Hurricane Nicholas, the TDU said in a market notice

CEP is used by AEP Texas during outage events to prevent estimating usage for premises during which a meter was without power. Only meters that lost communication with the MDM would receive CEP treatment between the usage dates of September 14, 2021 through September 16, 2021.

CEP was de-activated for the following Counties:

• Calhoun

• Colorado

• Matagorda

• Refugio

• Wharton

Counties covering the impacted cities/towns listed below:

• Palacios

• Port Lavaca

• Matagorda

• Wadsworth

• Markham

• Bay City (and immediate surrounding area)

• El Campo
