The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

Abacus Energy LLC filed with the Texas PUC a registration as a Texas electricity broker

Abacus Energy LLC is a solar installation company

As previously reported, start-up retail electric provider MI Texas REP, which has a REP application pending before the PUC and which is ultimately a unit of Mothership Energy Group, had in its initial application sought to use the trade name "Abacus Energy Retail Electricity"

As exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com (see details here), Mothership has indicated that it will offer a Texas REP on a "white label" basis to various entities which have an existing brand and customer acquisition channel/customer base

Among other things, the white label service is tailored to support serving loads with behind-the-meter generation, including special considerations for net-metering, asset aggregation, and wholesale and ancillary services market participation.

Although the entities Abacus Energy LLC (broker) and Abacus Energy Retail Electricity (d/b/a for MI Texas REP) both use the brand Abacus, EnergyChoiceMatters.com stresses that neither entity has in public filings indicated any relationship between the two companies
