Retail Supplier To Drop Customers To Default Service

PA LLC d/b/a Sunrise Power & Gas will drop its approximately 5,000 residential customers in Pennsylvania to default service
Capital Energy will continue to serve non-residential customers in Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania, Capital serves residential customers in
the service territories of PPL (approximately 2,847), PECO (approximately 1,019) and Duquesne Light (approximately 1,168)
It is expected that PPL customers and PECO
customers will be switched commencing 12/01/21 and concluding on 12/07/21. Pursuant to
an agreement with Duquesne, such customers will be switched beginning 02/01/22 and be
complete by approximately 02/04/22, Capital said
"Due to the ongoing pandemic and other
factors out of its control, Capital’s present intentions are to continue to serve non-residential customers, but
to cease serving residential customers for the foreseeable future. Stated differently, Capital does not intend
to seek abandonment of its license or its ability to continue to serve customers in any service territory but
does intend to cease serving residential customers for the immediate future," the company said in a PUC filing
