Central Maine Power Residential, Small C&I Default Service Rate Increasing 83%

The Maine Public Utilities Commission (Commission) has posted Standard Offer electricity supply rates today for residential and business customers at Central Maine Power (CMP).
For residential and small commercial customers at CMP (small customer group), the Standard Offer rate will be $0.118161 per kWh for the period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022, which is 83% higher than the current rate of $0.064494 per kWh
The PUC said that the new residential Standard Offer price amounts to an increase of about $30 per month on the total bill for an average customer using 550 kWh/month
For the CMP medium non-residential customer class, the new Standard Offer rates vary by month and are shown below. The PUC said that CMP medium-class businesses on the Standard Offer will see an average 82% increase annually in the supply portion of their bill.
Prices for the CMP large non-residential class will be indexed to market prices and set in advance of each month.
