New York PSC Extends Deadline By Which Another ESCO Must Drop Customers To Default Service

The Secretary of the New York PSC said in a letter to Josco Energy Corp. that the deadline for Josco to return its New York mass market customers to default service will be extended upon Josco timely filing a rehearing request of the PSC's order which had directed the return of the ESCO's mass market customers to default service

As previously reported, the PSC recently denied the application submitted by Josco Energy Corp. seeking eligibility to serve mass-market customers as an ESCO in the State of New York (See our prior story for the PSC's stated reasons for the denial). Such PSC Order directed Josco to return each of its mass-market customers to full utility service by January 18, 2022.

Josco Energy Corp. was granted an extension to comply with the requirements of the order until such time as the Commission issues its decision on Josco’s rehearing petition.
