The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

In separate orders, the New York PSC granted New Wave Energy Corp.; Zone One Energy, LLC; and Ambit New York, LLC an extension of the waiver which allows each ESCO to serve assistance program participant customers with a guaranteed savings product

Each ESCO received an additional two-year waiver, through February 7, 2024.

Except where a waiver is granted by the PSC, ESCOs may not serve APP customers

Commissioner Diane Burman suggested that the PSC should consider granting permanent waivers to ESCOs offering guaranteed savings products to serve APP customers, subject to compliance review to ensure ESCOs are following all applicable protocols. Burman suggested the limited nature of the waivers previously granted by the PSC (limited to two years, and terminating absent PSC extension) may be a reason for the lack of ESCOs serving APP customers
