OhmConnect Launches Retail Electricity Service In Texas

OhmConnect Texas, LLC d/b/a OhmConnect Energy has begun offering retail electricity service in Texas
OhmConnect is currently offering Texas residential customers four fixed rate options: 12 and 24 month fixed plans, both with a standard amount of renewable content, and with 100% renewable energy
In the Oncor service area, OhmConnect's TexasConnect 12 fixed rate plan has an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh, of 11.1¢ per kWh, which reflects an energy charge of 6.62¢ per kWh and TDU charges of 4.1543¢ per kWh and $3.42 per month
A $150 early termination fee applies
OhmConnect will offer Texas customers cash rewards
for reducing usage at specified times
It will also offer other rewards for various behaviors consistent with its gamification business model
OhmConnect is also paying customers $30 for every referral that becomes an active customer
OhmConnect's entry into Texas had been exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com in 2020, and last year we discussed its approach to the Texas market with Don Whaley, President of OhmConnect Energy
