Texas Utility Without Choice Intends To Offer Voluntary Renewable Energy Options
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Entergy Texas intends to seek approval to offer a voluntary renewable energy tariff to customers, according to a case number request filed with the Texas PUC
Although nothing substantive has yet been filed in the docket, Entergy Texas, Inc. in a letter to the PUC requested assignment of a docket number for the case styled as follows: "Entergy Texas, Inc.'s Statement of Intent and Application for Approval of Two Voluntary
Renewable Option Tariffs, Rider SVRO and Rider LVRO"
Entergy Texas's application comes as the Texas PUC opened a project to house stakeholder views on expanding electric choice to the investor-owned utilities without choice (see story here), and Commissioner Jimmy Glotfelty said last fall that the PUC needs to "re-look" at a transition to competition at Entergy Texas (story here)
