The Midcontinent ISO has released pricing from its capacity auction for the 2022-23 delivery year

Prices were as follows for notable zones ($/MW-day)

Zone 4 (Ameren Illinois)           $236.66
Zone 7 (Michigan: DTE, Consumers)  $236.66
Zone 2 (Michigan Upper Peninsula)  $236.66
Zone 3 (MidAmerican Illinois)      $236.66
Zone 9 (Entergy Texas)               $2.88

For Zone 4 (Ameren Illinois) and Zone 7 (DTE, Consumers), the 2022-23 price of $236.66 per MW-day compares to the 2021-22 price of $5.00/MW-day

The price of $236.66 per MW-day is the Cost of New Entry under the auction

A presentation by MISO staff states that, "Unless more capacity is built that can supply reliable generation, shortfalls such as those highlighted in this year’s auction will continue."

"Zones 1-7 have an increased risk of needing to implement temporary, controlled load sheds," the presentation states
