Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has appointed Patrice M. 'Patty' Bubar to the PSC

Since 2015, Bubar has served as Deputy Director of the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection.

During such time, Montgomery County worked to develop an opt-out municipal aggregation pilot (work on such pilot, now authorized by statute, continues under a previously reported timeline which is subject to the PSC)

Bubar's resume includes senior positions at federal cabinet-level and independent regulatory agencies including the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Bubar replaces the seat vacated by Commissioner Mindy L. Herman, who announced that she will retire as of May 4, 2022.
