PSC Approves Tripling Of POR Discount To Over 3%
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The District of Columbia PSC approved, as-filed, Washington Gas Light's update to its purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates, effective on or after the June 2022 billing cycle
For residential customers, WGL's POR discount will increase to 3.121%, from the prior 1.032%
The primary driver in the increase is the lack of an offsetting reconciliation credit that had been present in the prior POR calculation. Specifically, in the calculation for the new residential POR discount, the reconciliation component is a charge of 0.496%, while, in the prior calculation, the reconciliation component was a credit of 1.511%
For non-residential customers, WGL's POR discount will increase to 0.814%, from the current 0%
