Metroplex Energy, Inc. applied for an Option 1 Texas retail electric provider certificate

Metroplex Energy is an Atlanta-based wholesale fuel company that secures bulk fuel to supply rack sales and delivery of gasoline, diesel, and biofuel products by pipeline, rail, truck, barge, and vessel. Metroplex Energy's website indicates that it has facilities and/or offers services in the Houston and DFW areas

Metroplex Energy was created as a wholly-owned subsidiary of RaceTrac Petroleum, Inc., which operates (itself or through the Raceway brand operated by contractors) over 500 gas stations and convenience stores in the Southeast U.S., including Texas (with the Texas stations largely concentrated in the DFW area). Although RaceTrac is privately held, it is believed that Metroplex Energy remains a subsidiary of RaceTrac, based on testimony provided in the past 18 months as well as the apparent continued practice of shared executives, and language in recent RaceTrac job postings

Rushi Patel serves as Manager, Diversified Energy at Metroplex Energy

In Metroplex Energy's REP application, Chris Hendrix is listed as a consultant to Metroplex Energy. Hendrix remains CEO of Demand Control 2, a retail electric provider which also offers advisory services to end users and others. Demand Control 2's consulting for Metroplex Energy is part of Demand Control 2's "Managed REP Service".

In Metroplex Energy's REP application, Metroplex did not apply for the option of collecting deposits or advance payments from customers
