National Grid Residential, Commercial Fixed Default Service Rates To Exceed 30¢ (200% Increase)

National Grid in Massachusetts has filed new basic service (default service) electric rates for the period beginning November 1, 2022.

National Grid's fixed residential basic service rate for the period November 2022 to April 2023 is proposed to increase 195%, to 33.891 cents per kWh, from the current 11.491 cents per kWh. The new rate reflects the currently effective Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factors (BSACFs) and the Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factors (SGCCAFs); these adders may change by November 1.

National Grid's fixed commercial (G-1) basic service rate for the period November 2022 to April 2023 is proposed to increase 211%, to 32.287 cents per kWh, from the current 10.370 cents per kWh. The new rate reflects the currently effective Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factors (BSACFs) and the Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factors (SGCCAFs); these adders may change by November 1.
