The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

Several Maryland utilities have filed new small customer SOS rates for the period June 2023 through September 2023 (Pepco, Delmarva), while all four IOUs have filed new Type II SOS Rates for the period beginning December 1, 2023

All rates in this story refer only to the "generation" (generation service charge SOS Kilowatt-hour Charge) portion of the SOS charge, and do not constitute the total SOS rate. The total SOS rate also includes the admin. charge and transmission, which typically will change prior to June 1 of next year (as well as reconciliation)

At Pepco, the generation SOS Kilowatt-hour Charge for Schedule R residential customers will be $0.07853 per kWh for the period June 2023 through September 2023, about 8% lower than the current rate of $0.08586 per kWh

At Pepco, the generation SOS Kilowatt-hour Charge for Schedule GS Type I customers will be $0.08064 per kWh for the period June 2023 through September 2023, versus the current rate of $0.07981 per kWh

At Delmarva, the generation SOS Kilowatt-hour Charge for Schedule R residential customers will be $0.083480 per kWh for the period June 2023 through September 2023, about 5% higher than the current rate of $0.079003 per kWh

At Delmarva, the generation SOS Kilowatt-hour Charge for standard Small General Service – Secondary Service (SGS-S) Type I customers (not space heating) will be $0.082003 per kWh for the period June 2023 through September 2023, about 4% higher than the current rate of $0.078883 per kWh

Rates for additional classes, plus Type II rates at the other EDCs, are linked below. Note BGE typically does not file tariffed summer SOS rates until December once load shaping data is available, though it may post indicative rates on its website before such time. For Type I customers, BGE is holding a reserve procurement as noted:
