Utility's Default Service Rate To Decrease 10%

The default service (energy service) rate for the Small customer group at Public Service Company of New Hampshire (PSNH) d/b/a Eversource Energy is set to fall about 10% for the six-month period beginning February 1, 2023

The PSNH Small customer group default service rate, subject to PUC approval, will be $0.20221 per kWh for the six-month period beginning February 1, 2023 and ending July 31, 2023.

That's about 10% lower than the current Small customer rate of $0.22566 per kWh.

As previously reported, PSNH's RFP was not fully subscribed and only procured about half of the required load for the Large customer group.

For the Large customer group, PSNH filed to conduct a second RFP before the February 1, 2023 start of the next default service period to fill the remaining load. If this second RFP fails, PSNH proposes to self-serve the load via ISO-NE purchases

PSNH reported that the following percents of its customers take default service: approximately 84% of residential customers, 31% of commercial customers, and under 7% of industrial customers
