Pricing has been publicly posted for David Energy's first residential electricity plan in Texas, which is a "friends & family" beta offering

David Energy is a self-described "new kind of power company" which has said that it will tailor plans to the needs of smart device owners and those with distributed generation and storage

At sign-up, David Energy asks if the customer has any of the following devices -- EV charger, solar, smart thermostat, generator, heat pump, battery storage -- but the online quote generator does not appear, at this time, to result in any different price or plan as a result of the selections

In the Oncor service area, David Energy is offering a 100% renewable, 24-month fixed rate with an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh, of 12.4¢ per kWh. This reflects an "electricity rate" (energy rate) of 7.608¢ per kWh plus Oncor charges of 4.408¢ per kWh and $3.42 per month. There is a paper billing or non-auto pay fee of $5

An early termination fee of $10 per month remaining on the contract term applies

David's beta includes offerings at Oncor and CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric

Earlier, David Energy had stated of its Texas residential market entry, "We will be offering plans that are tailored to the needs of smart device owners (anyone with an EV, solar, backup battery, smart thermostat, etc.). By coordinating the energy production and consumption of these devices with the real-time needs of the grid we can make the entire system cheaper, cleaner, and more reliable. This is your chance to make a household decision that can help shape the future of the energy grid in Texas."

David Energy's general Home service website (not specific to Texas) has promoted its home offering as, "Get an energy plan tailored to maximize value -- whether you own an EV, rooftop solar, smart thermostats, or other device."

"Put your devices to work. Our automated device management enrolls your devices in lucrative energy market programs to save you money with no additional effort," the site has stated
