Southeast Ohio Public Energy Council d/b/a Sustainable Ohio Public Energy Council applied at the PUC of Ohio for certification as an opt-out governmental aggregator for natural gas

SOPEC already runs an electricity opt-out aggregation (which includes the City of Dayton), and ballot measures from several members for natural gas aggregation authorization were approved in the November 2022 election, though authorization does not necessarily mean various communities will join the aggregation.

SOPEC intends to contract with AEP Energy for its retail natural gas supply needs. AEP Energy currently serves as SOPEC's supplier for the electricity aggregation
