Texas Retail Provider Being Sold

Eligo Energy TX, LLC, an active Texas retail electric provider, is in the process of being acquired by ResidentShield Power, LLC during Q1 of 2023.
ResidentShield Power, LLC is a Delaware LLC. The Texas Secretary of State does not list any entity under the name "ResidentShield Power, LLC" (the Secretary of State website may lag actual filings of a foreign LLC registration to extent one is required), and Texas registration for a trade name ResidentShield Power (or variations thereof) also do not yet appear on the Secretary of State site (which again may reflect a lag between the filing and online posting). In an application to amend its REP certificate to reflect the change in ownership, Eligo Energy TX, LLC did not seek to add any trade names to the certificate
It could not be immediately confirmed whether ResidentShield Power, LLC is part of ResidentShield (a trade name of Peak Insurance Advisors, LLC), a provider of renters insurance and other services to renters, or if the name ResidentShield is only being used under licensing, etc.
Eligo Energy TX, LLC is currently a wholly owned subsidiary of Eligo Energy, LLC, and will become a wholly owned subsidiary of
ResidentShield Power, LLC under the transaction
"The acquisition will not materially impact Applicant's [Eligo Energy TX, LLC] current operations in Texas and
Applicant's financial, managerial, and technical qualifications. As such, Applicant expects to
utilize substantially similar personnel and maintain the same level and proficiency in staffing," Eligo Energy TX, LLC said
Eligo Energy TX, LLC said that, to the extent necessary, it will continue to provide support services to ResidentShield Power
through a Transition Services Agreement, including continued operational, managerial, and
technical support of ResidentShield Power
