Utility's Residential, Commercial Default Service Rates To Fall 58% (About 19¢)

National Grid in Massachusetts has filed new basic service (default service) electric rates for the period beginning May 1, 2023.
Including proposed changes to National Grid's Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factors (BSACFs) and the Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factors that are also proposed to take effect on May 1, 2023, National Grid's fixed residential basic service rate for the period May 2023 to October 2023 is proposed to be 14.115¢ per kWh, 58% lower than the current rate of 33.891 cents per kWh
Including proposed changes to National Grid's Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factors (BSACFs) and the Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factors that are also proposed to take effect on May 1, 2023, National Grid's fixed commercial (G-1) basic service rate for the period May 2023 to October 2023 is proposed to be 13.393¢ per kWh, 58% lower than the current rate of 32.287 cents per kWh
