Utility Files To Hike POR Discount To Nearly 7%

Washington Gas Light in the District of Columbia has filed proposed new purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates
For residential customers, WGL proposes to increase the D.C. POR discount to 6.897%, from the current 3.121%
The new residential discount includes, among other components, a 2.660% bad debt component (up from 0.951% in the current rate), and a 2.649% reconciliation component (up from 0.496% in the current rate)
For non-residential accounts, WGL proposes to set the D.C. POR discount at 0.809%, versus the current 0.814%
WGL did not propose an effective date in its filing. Typically, the D.C. PSC approves new discount rates to be effective in June
