Duke Energy Ohio has proposed to hold in July 2023 a previously delayed auction for 30 tranches of electric SSO supplies for the 2024-2025 delivery period

The procurement of the 2024-2025 tranches had been delayed from an anticipated procurement during a February 2023 auction due to, at such time, a lack of a forward capacity price in PJM

Duke noted that, "The most recent auctions for electric utilities in Ohio have resulted in somewhat lower prices than in the preceding period. Duke Energy Ohio currently has two auctions remaining, one in September 2023 and one in February 2024, each for 35 tranches. There are also 30 tranches remaining for the 2024/2025 delivery year, the auction for which was delayed as noted above."

"In consultation with its auction manager, and pursuant to O.A.C. 4901-1-12, the Company hereby requests that the Commission approve the holding of an additional auction for the 2024/2025 product in July 2023. At such auction, Duke Energy Ohio would auction all 30 tranches of the delayed 2024/2025 product," Duke proposed

Case No. 18-6000-EL-UNC
