Commonwealth Edison in Illinois has filed updates to the Purchased Electricity Charges (PECs) and PJM Services Charges (PSCs) for the period beginning June 1, 2023

Although, as is customary, ComEd filed indicative revisions to the PECs and PSC in late April, the newly filed final rates reflect further changes, and, among other things, reflect PJM Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) Auctions finalized on May 1, 2023

The Price to Compare reflects the PEC (energy supply) and PSC (transmission). The Price to Compare does not represent the entirety of the customer's bypassable rate, as the Price to Compare does not include bypassable reconciliation (PEA)

For residential customers, the ComEd Price to Compare will fall 30% on June 1, 2023 to 6.809 cents per kWh, from the current 9.665 cents per kWh. The new PTC is to be in place for the summer months of June through September 2023

The new rate components of the new ComEd PTC were filed today. As of publication time, at least one retail supplier on PlugIn Illinois currently has an offer 9% below the new ComEd PTC for a fixed 12-month term

Although an official PTC is not developed for non-residential classes, for Watt-hour Non-Electric Space Heating customers, the sum of the ComEd PEC and PSC will fall 30% on June 1, 2023 to 6.851 cents per kWh (applicable for the summer months of June through September 2023), from the current 9.718 cents per kWh.

New PECs and PSCs for additional rate classes can be found here

While PECs have been filed for the non-summer months of the 2023-24 delivery year, they may be subject to change based on any fall 2023 procurement.
