The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

Planet Energy (Pennsylvania) Corp. d/b/a Value Plus Energy and RiteRate Energy formally filed at the Pennsylvania PUC to abandon its electric supplier license

As previously reported, Planet Energy discontinued electric supply services to all of its Pennsylvania customers in the summer of 2022, with electric customers dropped to default service. Planet Energy said that it is not currently serving any electric customers in Pennsylvania

In an abandonment notice, Planet stated, "In response to [requirement] 'the licensee must provide documentation showing it is compliant with the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard obligations', please see Appendix C. Planet Energy’s supply was provided by Shell North America, and the email confirms that Planet Energy sold its supply positions, which would make Planet Energy’s supply volumes zero."
