International Battery Storage Trader & Optimization Firm Registers As ERCOT Power Marketer

Habitat Energy, Inc. registered as a Texas power marketer, indicating it would participate in the ERCOT markets

Last year, Habitat Energy Limited, a UK-based algorithmic optimization and trading platform for grid-scale battery storage and renewables assets, announced an expansion into the U.S. power market with an initial team of 18 data science and power trading specialists, and said that it was positioned to be operational in all major US power markets by the end of 2023.

Habitat said last year that it has partnered with battery storage developer, Glidepath Power Solutions, LLC, to optimize an initial portfolio of 60MW of BESS assets to be operational in ERCOT by end 2023. Habitat and Glidepath are both portfolio companies of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners.

Habitat recently named Stephanie Waite as Head of Business Development, USA.

With over 20 years of experience in power markets, Waite previously served as VP, Renewable Origination at EDF Energy North America, and previously held senior origination positions at Dynegy and Calpine

Michael Kirschner was named Managing Director, Habitat Energy USA last year. Kirschner previously served as Vice President, Markets and Analytics at Vistra and Vice President, Commercial Analysis at Dynegy
