Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

CPL Retail, WTU Retail, and First Choice Power, which are all ultimately brands owned by NRG Energy, filed entirely confidential filings today in Texas PUC project 54907, a project which was opened for the purposes of REP cessation of operations notices pursuant to 16 TAC 25.107 (H)(3)

For some time, CPL, WTU, and First Choice Power have been directing new customer inquiries to Reliant, though it had not been previously clear if such pause in the use of such brands was temporary or permanent

NRG confirmed to EnergyChoiceMatters.com that then-existing WTU, CPL and FCP customers were transferred to Reliant over a year ago. The customers were provided advance notice of their transfer, and Reliant honored the terms of their existing electricity service
