Plus Energy Services LLC, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation, stated in a filing that it does not intend to file an application for renewal of its Ohio electricity broker certificate

Plus Energy Services stated, "This notice does not constitute an abandonment under Ohio Adm.Code 4901:1-24-01(A) and 4901:1-24-12 because Plus Energy Services LLC has never provided competitive retail electric services to any customers and is not a party to any contract with any customer."

As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Plus Energy Services LLC, an affiliate of utility Dayton Power & Light, received an Ohio broker license in 2021.

In its 2021 application, Plus Energy Services had stated, "Plus envisions a simplified, customer-centric energy management, billing, and payment experience that eliminates the hassle and inconsistency of traditional monthly billing. Plus has developed a mobile app and business model that provides retail customers with a flat monthly bill and helps the customer purchase green energy."

In its 2021 application, Plus Energy Services had stated, "Plus's main offering for the customers will be an individualized subscription plan for billing. This will allow the customer to pay a flat amount each month even though the Utility and Supplier bills may fluctuate month-to-month. Plus will pay the utility and the supplier on behalf of the customer each month. Through the subscription program arranged by Plus, Retail customers are able to enjoy competitive pricing, get energy insights and participate in personalized energy programs in a mobile environment, without the hassle of conducting the research and enrolling into each program themselves."
