Texas PUC Staff Designate New Non-Volunteer POLRs Due To Market Exit

Staff of the Texas PUC have filed revisions to the large service provider lists (non-volunteer POLRs) due to, as previously reported, Texpo Power LP no longer meeting the eligibility criteria to serve as a non-volunteer POLR due to a sale of Texpo's customers
The sale of the Texpo book to NRG Energy had been first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com
As a result of Texpo no longer meeting the large service provider (LSP) eligibility criteria for those service areas in which it had been designated an LSP, Staff moved to the next eligible REP which had not yet been designated an LSP for such service area and customer classes
Specifically, with regards to Texpo's former designation as an LSP in the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric (CEHE) area for the Medium Non-Residential customer class,
the next eligible REP to replace this vacancy is Freepoint Energy Solutions LLC (REP
Certificate No. 10248). Staff has now designated Freepoint as an LSP to replace Texpo for the CEHE Medium Non-Residential class.
In the TNMP area for the Medium Non-Residential customer class,
the next eligible REP to replace Texpo's vacancy is Ambit Texas LLC (REP Certificate No. 10117). TXU Energy Retail Company LLC previously requested and received approval to assume any LSP obligations of its affiliate Ambit, and Staff thus designated TXU to replace Texpo in the TNMP Medium Non-Residential customer class LSP list
There are no eligible REPs to replace any vacancies in any of the other classes and service areas for which Texpo had been previously designated as an LSP (namely the Large Non-Residential customer class in all TDU areas)
