National Grid's electricity basic service rates in Massachusetts for residential and commercial customers are increasing about 30% on November 1.

National Grid's fixed residential basic service rate for the period November 2023 to July* 2024 is 18.213 cents per kWh, about 30% higher than the current rate of 14.115 cents per kWh. The new rate reflects the currently effective Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factors (BSACFs) and the Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factors (SGCCAFs). *The fixed rate will change when the Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factor, which is a component of Basic Service rates, is revised effective on May 1, 2024.

Note that the fixed rate is for nine months, rather than six, under a previously reported transition in the Massachusetts EDCs' basic service rate periods to split up the months of January and February.

National Grid's fixed commercial basic service rate for the period November 2023 to July* 2024 is 17.262 cents per kWh, about 30% higher than the current rate of 13.393 cents per kWh.
