"Constellation is exiting the retail natural gas supply business in New York effective immediately and will be transferring its current retail natural gas customers to Great Amercian [sic] Gas and Electric, LLC," Constellation has notified New York gas customers

A sample assignment notice confirms that the ESCO being assigned the customers is Great American Gas and Electric, LLC,

A sample assignment notice suggests that the assignment will take place during the month of November or December, 2023

Under the assignment, there will be no changes in the price, terms or conditions of service as they were stated in the customers' contract.

The assignment only impacts gas contracts. For those customers who are also served by Constellation for electricity, the electricity contract will not be impacted and Constellation will continue supplying the customer's electricity

"Constellation has experienced large attrition over the past 5 years in its NY gas book due to product limitations in the marketplace. With less of a customer base and challenges in growing the book in the near future, the decision was made to exit the market."
