Baltimore Gas & Electric has filed a tariff reflecting summer 2024 SOS rates for mass market customers

BGE also filed updates to previously set SOS rates for all classes for periods beginning February 1, 2024 to reflect changes in the bypassable SOS Admin. charge

While the summer 2024 SOS rates are based, in part, on a procurement approved in October, BGE's practice is to not file formal tariffs with updated retail rates until December to await load shaping data for certain TOU classes.

BGE's Schedule R residential Total Generation Rate for the period Jun. 1, 2024 - Sep 30, 2024 is currently filed to be 9.485 cents per kWh, which is about 8% lower than the updated rate of 10.361 cents per kWh which is proposed to apply for the period Feb. 1, 2024 - May 31, 2024.

The Total Generation Rate includes the Energy Rate, Admin. Charge, and Applicable Taxes related to the Energy Rate. It is not the full bypassable SOS rate, which includes transmission and Rider 8 reconciliation. The bypassable transmission rate usually changes on June 1. The Admin. Charge also typically changes on June 1, but in recent filings, for standard residential customers, changes in the Admin. Charge have been less than 1 mill per kWh.

BGE's Scheds. G/GU -Type I SOS Total Generation Rate for the period Jun. 1, 2024 - Sep 30, 2024 is currently filed to be 9.760 cents per kWh, versus the updated rate of 9.861 cents per kWh which is proposed to apply for the period Feb. 1, 2024 - May 31, 2024.

For updated rates for additional classes (both new rates for early 2024 due to the new Admin. charge and summer 2024 rates), and the Total SOS Rate based on current transmission rates (excludes Rider 8 reconciliation), see BGE's filing here

Regarding the new SOS Admin. Charge applicable to previously set rates, the new Admin. Charge rates are proposed as follows, to be applicable Feb. 1, 2024

BGE SOS Admin. Charge
   mills per kWh
                Current 2/1/24

Residential 3.94 4.06
Type I 3.24 4.63
Type II 3.37 4.32
