The Maryland House Economic Matters committee moved forward (favorable) an amended version of SB 0001, the retail energy reform bill

See background on the bill here

The House Economic Matters committee adopted several amendments in voting the bill favorable.

Text of the amendments was not immediately available, but none of the amendments addressed the most severe provisions under the bill

Amendments addressed the definition of green power, and would create a more extensive mechanism for the PSC to review retail supplier green products (as defined in the bill), which are not subject to the bill's price cap (prior to the amendment, the bill already provided that such retail supplier green plans were subject to approval by the PSC)

Amendments also addressed the "marketing" of SOS
