NetGain Energy Advisors Receives Maryland Gas Broker License
The Maryland PSC granted NetGain Energy Advisors (organized as NRGing, LLC) a natural gas broker license to serve commercial and industrial customers in all service areas.  NetGain Energy Advisors recently received a Maryland electric broker license, and electric and gas broker licenses in the District of Columbia (9/27/10).  NetGain Energy Advisors has pending broker applications in Pennsylvania and Virginia (both commodities in each state).


ERCOT Hosting Additional Nodal Workshop for REPs
ERCOT will host another one-day workshop on November 9 concerning topics of special interest to Load Serving Entities (LSEs) and Retail Electric Providers (REPs), and their preparation for the transition to the Texas Nodal Market.  The workshop, to be held in Austin, will consist of panel discussions on selected nodal market topics related to the changes that the implementation of the nodal market will introduce to the business environment of REPs in the ERCOT market.  The workshop will consist of two panels of invited guests that will share their ideas on the risks and opportunities of the new ERCOT nodal market for LSEs.  Registration information is available on the ERCOT website.


Capitol Area Energy Seeks Texas Aggregation License
Broker Capitol Area Energy, Inc. applied for a Texas electric aggregator certificate to pool commercial, industrial and municipal customers.


PUCT Approves Withdrawal of Lahey & Partners REP Certificate
The PUCT granted the application of Lahey & Partners, LLC to relinquish its REP certificate.  Lahey & Partners has never conducted business.  Staff will file to withdraw its petition to revoke Lahey & Partners's REP certificate, for non-compliance with Subst. R. 25.107, as a result of the certificate withdrawal.  Withdrawing the certificate allows the principals to avoid the distinction of having been involved with a REP whose certificate was revoked, and Lahey & Partners did confirm in a PUCT filing that some of its principals, who were not identified, may wish to re-apply for a new REP certificate for a different company when current financial negotiations are completed
