Ambit Energy Surpasses 600,000 Customers

Ambit Energy announced today that it has surpassed 600,000 active customers.

The milestone comes only three months after passing the 500,000 customer milestone in the first quarter of 2011.

Ambit credited "record" customer enrollments in ERCOT and recent expansion to Commonwealth Edison, Orange & Rockland, and Central Hudson Gas & Electric for the growth. The three new markets were first reported in Matters (6/13).

Ambit has said it plans to enter four additional new markets by year-end.

Ambit now has over 130,000 Independent Consultants.

Chris Chambless, Ambit Energy co-founder and CMO, said that Ambit is on target, "to reach our goal of 1 million customers and $1 billion in annual revenue in 2012."
