American Power Partners LLC will "aggressively" expand to Pennsylvania during the first quarter of 2012, President Robert J. Kreppel told Matters yesterday.

As first reported by Matters, American Power Partners received its Pennsylvania supplier license at the end of September (9/23).

Kreppel said that the retailer is now undergoing EDI testing, will enter the Pennsylvania electric market in the first quarter of next year.

Specific Pennsylvania service areas have not been determined yet, Kreppel said.

As previously reported (6/29), American Power Partners currently offers electric supply to residential and commercial customers at Baltimore Gas & Electric and Pepco in Maryland. It has since supplemented its guaranteed savings variable rate with a fixed rate product (through a specific meter read date) including 25% renewable energy.

Kreppel expects that similar products will be offered in Pennsylvania.

American Power Partners has over one thousand customers, and started marketing in July. American Power Partners uses a variety of sales channels including direct mail, social networking, and indirect/broker channels.
