Reliant Launches Free Weekends Plan Reliant has launched a Free Weekends plan, which is bundled with a Nest Learning Thermostat.
The Free Weekends 24 plan is offered to Texas residential customers and includes a 24 month fixed rate. There is no "energy "charge from 8 p.m. Friday until 12 a.m. Monday.
Rates were not immediately available. The plan is available starting April 26.
Reliant said that the Nest Learning Thermostat learns about the customer's lifestyle and automatically adjusts itself when customers are away. The Nest Thermostat was previously available with Reliant's Learn & Conserve plan.
Additionally, Reliant is now bundling the Nest Thermostat with its Degrees of Difference program, which is a peak time rebate program paying customers for reductions during called events. The Degrees of Difference plan will allow customers to enable Nest's Rush Hour Rewards, which automatically adjusts cooling on peak days to reduce peak usage, through cycling or other measures (pre-cooling, etc.).
Reliant had also previously launched a cash-back plan for nights and weekends
